When your student becomes a b21 member, they’re joining a supportive community with access to our Open Space and all of our CORE Programs. At Building Twentyone, we don’t just run programs — we shape pathways for teens to thrive.
Our approach is grounded in the principles of Positive Youth Development, a proven framework that nurtures the whole person — socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually. Rather than focusing on what youth are lacking, we focus on what they’re capable of becoming. Every activity, mentorship moment and experience is designed to help students gain confidence, build character and develop real-world skills — preparing them not just for high school, but for life. Through hands-on learning, supportive relationships and meaningful leadership opportunities, we empower teens to meet the challenges of adolescence and step into adulthood with purpose.
We offer programs exclusive to our members, along with many other benefits.
Eligibility: We serve middle and high school students — grades 6 through 12 — from across the Greater Lansing area who are open to growth, eager for connection and ready to explore their potential in a safe, supportive and youth-driven space. Our teens come from diverse backgrounds but share a desire to belong, be seen and become who they’re meant to be.
– Membership begins upon date of first payment and extends throughout the current school year.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
Building Twentyone is a mission driven, non-profit that ensures all teens, regardless of financial situations, are able to participate in our programs. Through generous donors and grants, there are opportunities to fund partial or full scholarships based on proof of your income. Please only apply for scholarships if you have financial hardships so that all those who want to participate may do so.
